ART JEWELRY & SCULPTURE(PA)
Rose Manteghian is an artist from the Philadelphia area. She majored in Commercial/Fine Arts at Montgomery County Community College, studied Studio Art at Villanova University, and has a Paralegal Degree from the American Center for Technical Arts and Sciences in Wayne, PA. While in college, Rose was also a private tutor, teaching drawing to an 8-year-old child.
As a youth, Rose started making greeting cards, painting designs on jackets, then designing and wearing her own line of accessories. Years later, while working full-time, Rose decided to follow her dreams of becoming an accomplished artist. For most of the 1990s, she sold her handmade, one-of-a-kind artwork at many craft shows, art exhibitions, and local stores, as well as doing commission art. Her style ranges from Rock N' Roll to almost anything her creativity allows her to do.
One of her first major projects was an album cover she designed in 1995 for a local Philadelphia area rock group, “Slacker”. In 2002, she made individual sculptures of the multi-platinum, Grammy Award winning rock group, "System of A Down", and gave them to each band member as gifts. She also made additional sculptures, paintings and jacket designs, which were featured on the band's official website.
Since then, Rose has made sculptures for other celebrities, including Kelly Osbourne, Ozzy Osbourne, Foo Fighters, Cher, Alice Cooper and Billy Idol. In 2010-2011, her sculptures of Jimi Hendrix, Joey Ramone, Freddie Mercury & David Bowie, were featured at the WMGK Classic Rock Art Show in Philadelphia. She has also made sculptures of Rock legend Bill Haley & his Comets. Rose also created two coloring books, “Armenian Heritage Coloring Book.” & "Decades of Fashion & Style Coloring Book". She does commission work as well, and donates many of her pieces to charitable fundraising events. In 2015, Rose was voted one of the top finalists for Best Artist in Montgomery County Pennsylvania, by The Montco Happening List.
