Laura Green received her B.F.A. in Painting from the University of Delaware in 2007, with a concentration in painting. Her work is largely process based; dually inspired by nature and artifice. Bio-luminescence, iridescence, and shimmering natural phenomena exhibited by terrestrial organisms provide a major source of inspiration. Simultaneously, manufactured objects such as plastic fruit, glossy Barbie shoes, intricately woven lace, and neon Rococo molding equally fuel her fire. These competing interests are apparent in the various materials employed in her work: epoxy resin, Mulberry paper, ink, powdered seaweed, vegetation, and readymade molds. Currently she resides in Brooklyn, New York.
