Karen Delaney has been a sculptor for over twenty years and is a happily married mother of three teenagers. She actively exhibits in galleries and group shows in the region and has works in many private collections. Internationally she has exhibited in Vienna, Austria; Warsaw, Poland and Dunaujvarous, Hungary. Karen earned her BFA from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). After earning her MFA with a Teaching Fellowship from Radford University in Virginia, she taught at IUP, the Anglo-American College in Prague, Czech Republic, and Emmanuel College in Boston. Since her children were born, she has acquired a Museum Studies Certificate from Harvard University in Boston and worked at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh managing an interactive art studio program with weekend museum visitors.
Currently she devotes her time to making sculpture in her West Chester, Pennsylvania studio and continually pursues exhibition opportunities. Each March since 2010 she has curated and organized Chester County’s Radley Art Show. This charity exhibition showcases the work of regional artists and has raised money for Safe Harbor, a local homeless shelter. This summer Karen is working on two projects; one, a private commission for an outdoor sculpture, and the second a 3x9 feet relief sculpture for the entrance of the Henry Gallery on the Penn State Great Valley campus.
